At the heart of every true forest lies the Primal Woods, the Forest Hall, which interconnects all the forests of all worlds, making them ultimately one vast woodland with many outgrowths and hidden corners.
The Yggs are a race that finds its origin and beginning in the Forest Hall, from where they expanded not only to Qurand but to all worlds containing forests. The individual nations of the Yggs differ greatly in appearance and way of life, yet they share the same essence and perceive one another as brotherly beings. Their common traits include various forms of forest magic, a talent for mana magic, and an instinctive sense for the distribution of power and balance within the forest organism.

Asks / Askoi: The Asks are tree-beings. They exist on a broad spectrum, ranging from the Eternally Rooted Asks—who hear, see, feel, and speak, but are in all other ways identical to trees—to the Freely-Moving Asks, whose physical shape resembles humans. The skin of the latter resembles the bark of a young beech tree, and they possess a massive mane of foliage on their heads and backs; they must regularly root themselves with their feet and spend time in the sunlight for their metabolism. Asks also vary in size, from those resembling sprites or children to giants standing many fathoms tall.

Dryads / Druviás: The most numerous of the Ygg race, it is the Dryads who have taken upon themselves the role of the sovereign protectors of the forest’s heart. This nation is composed of only one gender—female—and is divided into many vibrant subgroups with entirely unique traits. Some species of Dryads reproduce by bonding with trees, proving that they share a common origin with them.
Auduns / Auduin: The Auduns are a small folk living on the northwestern border of the Great Forest. In many ways, they are similar to Dryads, but they possess two genders. They live in close communion with trees and harbor an aversion to fire. They have green skin, excellent senses of smell and hearing, and possess fur on the lower half of their bodies. Their hatred of fire makes them antagonists to the Arkins in many respects, but the two nations have not engaged in any open conflict within foreseeable history; rather, they tend to cautiously avoid one another.
Trolls / Troll: Immense, hairy beings who dislike direct sunlight and heat, inhabiting the deep forests of cold climates. Trolls are masters of powerful magic, and their presence is always signaled by a cold mist they spread around themselves to shield against light and warmth. Few ordinary humans have ever seen a Troll in its full physicality; instead, they appear only as large, vague shapes in the fog or twilight. The eyes of Trolls glow in the darkness and can instantly induce hypnosis or paralysis in the unprepared. While humans fear Trolls, Dryads and Asks consider them wise and benevolent beings and maintain friendly relations with them.
