ADAD – son of Hanneug, chieftain of the raiders in the Northern Kingdoms; he occasionally performed dirty work for the agents of Xalgon. In year 74, he clashed with Alaron, Ivaren, and a mysterious forest spirit. In year 134, he clashed in a duel with Valhun and died by his hand.

ACHIRUN Angiras Vinari – King of Valarkagant from year 4797 of the reign of Adimaghavan Indar.

ALARON Solpinar Vinari – Son of Garair and Askra. Born in year 50 of King Achirun. From year 64, he studied under Saverd. From year 68, he was away on his studies in Uldar. In year 75, he founded Taulark, and in year 93, he married Sivarhan.

ALDAMIR – son of Fëangil and Salmë, chieftain of the wood elves for many human generations. In year 79, along with Alaron and Sivarhan, he founded Taulark and increased its population with his forest folk. He remained Alaron’s friend through good times and bad and rules Hidden Taulark to this day.

ALQISAINTIR – white shaman, Seer, and captain of the Paladin Order. Through his participation, he had a hand in most of the great deeds of the last two centuries in the region between Sir and Havdaur. In year 113, he severed the hand of Valhun Alaronion in a duel and took him as an apprentice. In year 117, he admitted him into the Order through guile. In year 169, he adopted Ignis Agnirion under the name Eranu Vina Vinaori.

ASKRA Atharvan Vinari – Daughter of Augon and wife of Garair. Born in the 24th year of Achirun’s reign. In year 43, she married Garair; in year 44, she departed with him for Uldar. In year 50, their son Alaron was born, and in year 52, Hathar. They returned in the same year. In year 61, her husband left for war and did not return. Three years later, she was disinherited from the Ark and reunited with him in the forests.

AUGON Atharvan Vinari – One of the three high mages of Valarkagant. Born in the 12th year of Ragnar’s reign. Father of Ghar, Carmath, and Askra. In year 64 of King Achirun, he disinherited his daughter Askra from the Ark. In year 73, he died, reaching the age of 107.

CARMATH Atharvan Vinari – Brother of Askra. A passionate hunter and a poor mage. Born in the 20th year of Achirun’s reign.

DANIDUS – Valhun’s horse, a gift from Alqisaintir from year 113. Danidus came from a noble breed and could speak the human tongue. From then on, Valhun lived out all the years of his life with Danid until 134, the year of his death.

DARAN Solpinar Vinari – Younger sister of Riva. Born in the 27th year of King Ragnar’s reign. Between years 32–53 of Achirun’s reign, she was the elder of the Solpinar lineage and the chief builder.

DERETH Chaktra Vinari – Commander of the Valarkagantian army in the Battle of Fanigar Field in the 32nd year of Achirun’s reign. He was fifty at the time.

ELCHTOL – an old and wise demon who served as a tutor for generations in the lineage of Nazqawn. He taught both Nazqawn and Me’awar life wisdom, alertness, sharp perception, rhetoric, and how to control others.

FIANCORDUS – son of Headan and Hagal, a northerner from Uldar, captain of the Paladin Order. In year 134, he was a guest of King Achirun and thus witnessed the duel between Valhun and Tiralas, in which Valhun triumphed.

FILLARDUS – son of Iolcan, Seer. Grandmaster of the Order of Shipmasters of Mantrin, long persecuted by the Maghavans. A renowned inventor whose skill contributed to the construction of the Horologium.

FINTAN – son of Audon, an elven historian living in Hidden Taulark. Author of several sagas, including the Saga of Lundir.

GARAIR Solpinar Vinari – Son of Riva. Born in the 20th year of King Achirun’s reign. He was a great warrior and a builder of fortresses. In year 33, he joined the army, and in year 43, he returned to the city and married Askra. In year 44, they departed together for Uldar, where they stayed until year 53. Until year 61, he lived and built in Valarkagant. He left for war and did not return. In year 64, he reunited with his wife.

GHAR Atharvan Vinari – Brother of Askra. A passionate hunter and a poor mage. Born in the 17th year of Achirun’s reign.

HANNEUG – son of Tmar of Garion, pirate captain of the Kira Samudran, worshiper of the god Ad. He stole his father Tmar’s wife, Kiana, and fathered Adad with her.

HATHAR Solpinar Vinari – Daughter of Garair and Askra. Born in year 52 of King Achirun.

IAISAR Atharvan Vinari – An Azharian. Born in the mountains in the middle of Gandhara under the name Jezra at an unknown time. Twin brother of Zandra (Zandar, Santala). Raised by the old man Tho. A Paladin and arch-master of the five elements. One of Suvarna’s three personal disciples. In year 169, he adopted the dryad Omerin as a daughter under the name Myrkrún Atharvan Vinari.

IVAIN Angiras Santra – one of General Orend’s adjutants.

IVAREN Solpinar Vinari – (also known as Ibuaren, Punar Aonkyra Vinaori, Ladowron, and by many other names). Year and place of birth are unknown. Adopted son of Garair and Askra at the request of an unknown old man. From year 77, ruler in South Siranian Arkagant. In year 134, along with his brother Alaron and nephew Lundir, he stood against the Rulers and tore the soul of Valhun Alaronion from them. In year 169, he adopted the elven mage Súlin under the name Vaikavir Aonkyra Vinaori.

KHERDIR Solpinar Vinari – Older brother of Riva. Between years 6–17 of Achirun’s reign, he was the elder of the Solpinars and the chief builder.

LUNDIR Solpinar Vinari (also called Me’awar) – son of Alaron and Sivarhan, born in Taulark in year 103 of Achirun’s reign. In year 113, he rose from the ashes of fallen Taulark and was dragged away as a prisoner to Xalgon, where he studied dark science, the languages of demons, the magic of time and stars, and architecture, and constructed the terrible Horologium. In year 126, he escaped from Xalgon and took refuge in a monastery. In year 134, he left the monastery and re-entered Xalgon. In year 149, he settled permanently in Sairis. In year 169, he adopted the half-elf Arsia as a daughter under the name Milran Solpinar Vinari.

LURIA – Archon, Zilath. One of the Rulers. Of all the Zilaths, his deeds are the least comprehensible. He resembles his counterpart Suvarna in that he cares more for the Great Plan than for his own existence. In year 134, he found Valhun in the forests east of Xalgon and brought him to the city.

KOSOMAKH – Archon, Zilath. One of the Rulers. Of all the Rulers, Kosomakh dwells most permanently in Xalgon and is counted among the most faithful trio of servants of the One.

NARWEN – daughter of the firstborn Irminsul and the Lady of the Waters Amereth, a noble elf; on Sivarhan’s recommendation, she was invited due to her wisdom and power to co-rule Taulark. Thanks to her power, Taulark was hidden and stands to this day.

NAZQAWN – a noble lady of Xalgon, a direct descendant of the ancient kings of the Empire of Vezan and the princes of Kaalu-Charmath, chieftain of Xalgon’s scouts and vizier for espionage affairs. In her blood mingles the heritage of the Dark Lords and devils from the Deepest Plains of Oblivion. In year 110 of Achirun’s reign, she arrived as a messenger in Taulark. In year 113, she witnessed its destruction and led the young Lundir Alaronion away from the ruins. In year 126, she escaped from Xalgon along with Ivareen and Lundir. In year 133, she took the name Riva Aonkyra Vinaori and became Queen of Arkagant alongside Punar-Ivaren. In year 169, she adopted the dark elf Night-Butterfly as a son under the name Darignatar Onkyra Vinaori.

OCELOT – grandmaster of the Paladin Order, Seer. Over the years, he was constantly in loose alliance with Alqisaintir, Ivaren, and Suvarna, contributing to steering history in favor of the Order and against the will of the Rulers. In year 117, he admitted Valhun Alaronion into the Order under the name Iramac.

OREND Chaktra Vinari – Nephew of Dereth. Born in year 11 of King Achirun. Commander of the western army in the Battle of Zanagarka. Personal enemy of Garair.

RAGNAR Angiras Vinari – King of Valarkagant in the years 4751–4797 of the reign of Adimaghavan Indar.

RAMARTAK – black shaman, Seer, and captain of the Paladin Order. Brother of Alqisaintir. In year 126, he helped Ivaren, Nazqawn, and Lundir escape from Xalgon.

RAUR Karian Kvanari – one of General Orend’s adjutants, the sole surviving officer from the Battle on the Xalgon Road.

RIVA Solpinar Vinari – Father of Garair, a great builder and warrior. Born in the 8th year of King Ragnar’s reign. For the last 15 years of his life, he was the elder of the Solpinar lineage. At the age of fifty-eight, he fathered his son Garair. He died in the 32nd year of King Achirun’s reign in the Battle of Fanigar Field at the age of seventy.

SAVERD Angiras Vinari – Son of Ingo, father of four daughters – Finan, Silme, Lalaith, and Alidan. His wife is an elf named Celwen. Born in the 12th year of King Ragnar’s reign. One of the three high priests on the Ark. One of Suvarna’s three personal disciples. From year 64, he looked after Garair’s children. He lives to this day as a very old hermit, having recently celebrated his 200th birthday.

SIVARHAN – Real name Lavarwen. Daughter of the Firstborn named Ari. Born centuries ago in the forests of Alpa Tarnas and trained as a mage. She killed Empress Siva I, thereby earning the gratitude of the Empire. One of Suvarna’s three personal disciples. Wife of Alaron and queen in Taulark. Mother of Valhun and Lundir. She perished in year 113 of King Achirun by the hand of the traitor Tiralas.

SUVARNA – An Azharnantian Maghavan, descended along with Alirawis. Architect in Sairis and teacher of the highest form of architecture at the school in Sairis and Uldar. Personal teacher of Saverd, Iaisar, and Sivarhan. In this incarnation, he perished in year 168 of King Achirun in the sky above Sairis by the hand of Architect Saurahan.

SUMITRA – An Azharian Mage, Master Reckoner and Master of longstaff combat. Abbot on Temple Mount. In year 126, he received Lundir, Ivaren, and Nazqawn into the monastery. In year 168, he became one of the Architects in Sairis.

TIRALAS Archinau Vinari – son of Haukar and Rún, born in Valarkagant in year 48 of the reign of King Achirun. In year 113, he treacherously murdered Sivarhan and opened Taulark to the army of King Achirun. In year 134, he died in a duel by the hand of Valhun Alaronion.

TMAR – son of Gor of Garion, a liquor merchant and pimp, father of Hanneug.

VALHUN Solpinar Vinari (also called Iramac and Me’atham) – son of Alaron and Sivarhan, born in year 93 of Achirun’s reign. In year 113, he was rescued by Alqisaintir from the destruction of Taulark, and in year 117, he was admitted into the Paladin Order under the name Iramac. In year 134, he killed the raider Adad in a heroic duel, and in the same year, he defeated and slew the traitor Tiralas before the throne of High King Achirun. His life ended in the very center of terrible Xalgon in the winter of that same year.
