The inhabitants of Old Vezan traced their origin directly to the hands of the One God, Baoth, who fashioned the first of them from dust and clay. Into this form, he instilled hunger, lust, and will, so that it came to life and began to multiply, feeding upon animals and plants. The Vezanians considered themselves a chosen people, created for a unique destiny: to obey the will of Baoth and his archangels, the Zilaths.
The Vezanians hold the view that the soul does not exist and that the life principle is contained within the blood. It is indeed true that the blood of the Vezanian nations possesses greater potency than that of other beings—it strengthens, heals, and influences consciousness.
Common traits of the Vezanians include swarthy skin (“the color of the clay from which they were created”), black hair, and dark eyes; otherwise, they possess average human height and lifespan. A very brisk and creative mind, activity, and enterprise are also inherent to the Vezanians. Some of the most famous inventors and innovators hail from the Vezanian race, as do great statesmen and orators. A nimble tongue, skillful argumentation, persuasiveness of speech, and charisma are natural to many Vezanians. They are convinced that human nature is founded upon lust and hunger (whether physical or for knowledge), and precisely because their societies account for this, they are ultimately prepared for it and function very well in many respects. Vezanians know how to enjoy life in a unique and colorful way that the stiff Arkins, thrifty Elves, or simple Dorns are incapable of.

Known Nations of the Vezanian Race:
– Xalgonians: The population of Xalgon is highly diverse, and the Vezanian race forms only one component of it. Unlike other places, Xalgon has preserved certain ancient, powerful lineages that trace their ancestry back to Baoth’s “First Man.” Typical attire: black color, large hats of many shapes (especially pointed), puffed sleeves, long cloaks.
– Garionites: Garion is a place of great mingling. Although Vezanian blood forms the primary substrate of the Garionite population, it has long since merged with other influences, mainly Northerners (Dorn race), but also to some extent with Elves and Saifs. The result is a nation that, by both its geographical location and its traits, is closest to a “generic human,” with natural variation in skin color from pale to yellowish to dark brown. They exhibit a relatively free variation in hair and eye color, as well as physical height (ranging from 170 to 190 cm for men and 15 cm less for women), with a lifespan between 60–80 years. With rare exceptions, the blood of Garionites no longer possesses the rare properties of the original Vezanians.
– Havdaurians: The inhabitants of Havdaur are a unique combination of Elven and Vezanian blood with almost no other admixtures. They live somewhat longer than average humans, have a higher talent for magic, and their blood retains some of that Vezanian “specialness.” Their main peculiarity, however, is a culturally established, otherworldly undead existence.
– Meltiks: A mysterious nation, hidden behind masks, about whom little is known except that they also derive their origin from Old Vezan.
